NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC CLOSURES AND EXPECTED DELAYS FOR WEEKEND EVENTS, INCLUDING THE
EAST 116TH STREET FESTIVAL AND THE PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADE
The New York Police Department today announced that areas of Manhattan will
be impacted by events planned for Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15. To
relieve traffic congestion, the Department urges people who are planning to come
to the city this weekend to use public transportation. All drivers can expect
delays.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 8 p.m. through Wednesday, July 18,
2007 at 5 a.m., traffic on Route 9A/West Street will shift to the east between
West Thames Street/J.P. Ward Street and Liberty Street. Access to the West
Street Underpass/Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be maintained.
