New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly today announced street
closures and media parking areas during the Macy's 30th Annual Fireworks Display
over the East River. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at
about 9:20 p.m. and ending at 9:50 p.m. Drivers are advised to use public
transportation and avoid the following locations between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The Department reminds spectators that no large backpacks, coolers or
alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the viewing area. All restricted items
are subject to search and seizure.

allotted on a
first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 8 a.m. Media
support vehicles may
park on any side street west of First Avenue,
EXCEPT for the following
streets: 23rd, 25th, 34th, and 42nd.
Parking is prohibited in crosswalks, bus stops, and at fire
hydrants.
