New York City Police Department Announces Street Closures And Expected Traffic Delays For Weekend Of April 22-23.

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and expected traffic backup. Drivers should anticipate delays in the following areas.


SPECIAL WEEKEND ALERT


Southbound FDR DRIVE from East 96th Street to East 34th Street will be closed beginning early Saturday morning (1:00 a.m.) until Monday morning (5:00 a.m.).


From 1:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2006 until Monday, April 24, 2006 at 5:00 A.M., the southbound FDR Drive will be closed from East 96th Street to East 34th Street. In addition, the following southbound entrance ramps will be closed:
-       East 125th Street
-       East 116th Street
-       East 102nd Street
-       East 92nd Street
-       East 79th Street
-       East 73rd Street
-       East 63rd Street

Moreover, the following exit ramps will be closed:
-       East 49th Street
-       East 71st Street
-       East 63rd Street
-       East 53rd Street



SATURDAY, APRIL 22

EARTH DAY NEW YORK  
Manhattan * Noon to 7:00 a.m.               
Location:  Vanderbilt Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 45th Street


SUNDAY, APRIL 23

22nd ANNUAL BRONX BIATHLON    
The Bronx * 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Route: Hutchinson River Parkway closed northbound from Bruckner Expressway Interchange to the New England Thruway.
