The New York City Police Department Announces Media Parking Areas For The New Year's Eve Celebration In Times Square.

The New York City Police Department today announced the parking areas that will be available for "Broadcast Vehicles Only" for the New Year's Eve Celebration in Times Square. Appointed parking areas will be available to the media for specific times. The first will be for a morning location on New Year's Eve and the second for the Ball drop.

Beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005, parking will be available for media outlets in the area surrounding Duffy Square. Duffy Square is located between Broadway and Seventh Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets. This area is for a morning shoot only and all media vehicles must be moved by 10 a.m.

At 10 a.m., broadcast trucks may relocate to 50th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue until the evening shoot time which begins at 2:30 p.m. Vehicles may not be left unattended on 50th Street between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Setup for the evening shoot can begin at 2:30 p.m. Broadcast vehicles may park in the area surrounding Duffy Square. When the media trucks are parked in the assigned spots around Duffy Square, they may not be left unattended.

DCPI will have representatives at in Times Square to offer assistance.
