To recognize the outstanding efforts of members of the New York City Police
Department, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly will preside over two promotion
ceremonies of uniformed officers and civilians tomorrow, in the first-floor
auditorium of One Police Plaza. The ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m. and 2
p.m.
During the morning ceremony, Inspector Joseph D'Amico, Commanding
Officer, Real Time Crime Center, and Inspector Steven Anger, Commanding Officer,
Midtown North Precinct, will be promoted to Deputy Chief. In addition, Deputy
Inspector Kenneth Lindahl, Deputy Inspector Ruben Beltran and Deputy Inspector
Edward Mullane will be promoted to Inspector. Moreover, six Captains will be
promoted to Deputy Inspector.
Also during the morning ceremony, two
Lieutenants will be promoted to Lieutenant, Commander Detective Squad and four
Lieutenants will be promoted to Lieutenant, Special Assignment. Four Sergeants
will become Sergeant, Supervisor Detective Squad while four other Sergeants
become Sergeant, Special Assignment. More than 70 members of service will be
promoted to Sergeant. Several Detectives will be promoted to Detective 1st Grade
and Detective 2nd Grade.
The morning ceremony will also recognize the
promotion of several civilian members of the Department to various
positions.
During the afternoon ceremony, more than 90 members of service
will be promoted to Detective Investigator.
