Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly To Preside Over A Promotion Ceremony For Members Of The Department

To recognize the outstanding efforts of members of the New York City Police Department, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly will preside over a promotion ceremony of uniformed officers and civilians tomorrow, in the first-floor auditorium of One Police Plaza. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m.

During this ceremony, Deputy Chief Diana Pizzuti, Commanding Officer, Police Academy, will be promoted to Assistant Chief. In addition, Inspector Robert McDonnell, Inspector Vincent DeMarino, and Inspector James O'Neill will be promoted to Deputy Chief. Moreover, three Deputy Inspectors will be promoted to Inspector and five Captains will be made Deputy Inspector.

Also during the ceremony, more than 35 members of service will be promoted to Sergeant. Several Detectives will be promoted to Detective 1st Grade and Detective 2nd Grade. More than 15 officers will be promoted to Detective.

The ceremony will also recognize the promotion of several civilian members of the Department to various positions.
