New York City Police Department Announces Street Closures And Expected Traffic Delays For Weekend Of October 1-2

Due to maintenance work on the George Washington Bridge, three upper level lanes will be closed in both directions from 10 p.m., Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday, leaving only one lane open. Motorists are encouraged to use the lower level or an alternative Hudson River crossing.

In addition to the lane closures, the following areas will also be affected:

* Henry Hudson Parkway ramp diverted to lower level
* Harlem River Drive diverted to lower level
* 179th Street ramp closed from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.


SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1

CONGRESS FOR RACIAL EQUALITY
Manhattan - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closed: University Place between Waverly Place and East 14th Street

CORPORATE CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP RUN
Manhattan - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Formation: Southbound Park Avenue at East 48th Street
Route: North on southbound Park Avenue to 56th Street; turnaround going southbound on northbound Park Avenue to 46th Street; West on 46th Street to southbound Park Avenue to 29th Street; Turnaround to northbound Park Avenue to 56th Street; Turnaround to southbound Park Avenue to 47th Street.

KOREAN PARADE
Manhattan * 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closed: Broadway from 26th Street to 41st Street
