Citywide Administrative Services Commissioner Martha K.
Hirst and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly announced today that the
Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) is now accepting
applications for Police Officer Exam No. 4022, scheduled to be held on Saturday,
June 18, 2005. Applicants may request to take the exam on one of three
tentatively scheduled alternative exam dates, June 17, 23 and 26, 2005.
Applications for the exam must be filed by Friday, April 22,
2005.
Applications are available at all Precincts, Transit Districts,
Police Service Areas (located within certain of New York City's Housing
Developments), Public Libraries, New York State Department of Labor offices and
at the DCAS Applications Center at 18 Washington Street in Manhattan. To find
the location of your local Precinct, Transit District or Police Service Area, or
to learn how to apply for the test online, call 311 or log on to
www.nyc.gov/nypd. There is no filing fee for this exam.
To be eligible to
take the Police Officer exam, applicants must be at least 17½ years old by the
last day of filing (April 22, 2005), and must not have reached their 35th
birthday by the first day of filing (February 2, 2005). Those applicants who
have qualifying military service may deduct up to six years from the maximum age
requirement.
