To recognize the outstanding efforts of members of the
New York City Police Department, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly will
preside over two promotion ceremonies of uniformed officers and civilians
tomorrow, in the first-floor auditorium of One Police Plaza. The ceremonies will
take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The morning ceremony will mark the
promotion of more than 15 Sergeants to Lieutenant. One uniformed members of
service will be promoted to Lieutenant Special Assignment and two Sergeants will
be promoted to Sergeant, Supervisor Detective Squad. Several Detectives will be
promoted to Detective 1st Grade and Detective 2nd Grade. More than ten officers
will be promoted to Detective Investigator.
The ceremony will also
recognize the promotion of several civilian members of the Department to various
positions.
During the afternoon ceremony, more than 100 members of
service will be promoted to Sergeant.
