The New York City Police Department today announced the traffic closures and expected delays that will occur during numerous events this weekend, including the East 116th Street Festival on Saturday and the
Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday. Because of the expected crowds in the following areas, drivers should expect heavy delays. Public transportation is highly encouraged. As a reminder: The alcohol ban at
these public events will be enforced.

SATURDAY, JUNE 12

116TH STREET FESTIVAL
Manhattan 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
East 116th Street between 2nd Avenue and Lexington Avenue
3rd Avenue between East 106th Street and East 122nd Street

HARE KRISHNA PARADE
Manhattan 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Formation: 5th Avenue and 41st Street
Route: South on 5th Avenue from 41st Street to Washington Square Park

SUNDAY, JUNE 13

NATIONAL PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADE

Manhattan 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Formation: At 10:30 a.m., at 43rd St. between Madison and Fifth Avenues; 44th Street between Broadway & Vanderbilt Avenues; 45th Street & 46th Street between Vanderbilt Avenue & 6th Avenue; 47th Street between Park Avenue & 6th Avenue; 48th Street between Madison Avenue & 6th Avenue; Vanderbilt Avenue between 42nd Street & 47th Street; 5th Avenue between 43rd Street & 44th Street; 5th Avenue from 44th Street to

TRAFFIC DETOURS

Formation area: Traffic will be detoured from the formation streets (above) upon the arrival of the first marching units or sooner, if so directed by the Traffic Commander.
Southbound: At 9:30 a.m., Fifth Avenue traffic at 96th Street will be detoured.
Westbound: At 9:30 a.m., 60th Street traffic will be detoured north on Madison Avenue.
Eastbound: 58th Street will be closed at Seventh Avenue.
Central Park South will closed at Columbus Circle; however, a lane will be established to permit vehicles destined for hotels therein. No vehicular traffic will be permitted to cross Fifth Avenue at Central Park South.
Pedestrian Crossings: 58th Street from 5th Avenue, eastbound Ticket-holders enter from 67th and 70th Streets (bag check at stands)
60th Street from Madison Avenue, westbound only
72nd Street, eastbound and westbound
96th Street, eastbound and westbound
90th Street, eastbound from Central Park
Transverse Roads: Closed both east and westbound at all times, except 96th Street.

Additional Closures: No traffic will be permitted eastbound on 50th
Street at Sixth Avenue (except buses) or westbound on 51st Street from
Madison Avenue.

NO PARKING LOCATIONS

Both sides of Fifth Avenue from 59th to 96th Streets
Both sides of Madison Avenue from 59th to 97th Streets
Both sides of 60th, 64th, 68th, 69th, 71st, 72nd, 74th, 79th, 83rd, 84th, 85th, 87th, and 96th Streets between Fifth and Madison Avenues
Both sides of 88th, 89th, 90th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 96th, and 97th
Streets between Fifth and Park Avenues.
