New York City Police Department Announces Street Closures And Expected Traffic Delays For Weekend Of May 29-31

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and expected traffic backup. Drivers should anticipate delays in the following areas.

SATURDAY, MAY 29

GREAT KILLS MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Staten Island 11 a.m.
Formation: Cleveland Avenue and Durant Avenue
Route: Proceeds through the center of Great Kills town, at Nelson
Avenue and Amboy Road, and on toward Giffords Lane.


SUNDAY, MAY 30

HAITIAN-AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Brooklyn 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Formation: Montgomery Street and Empire Boulevard
Route: Nostrand Avenue from Empire Boulevard to Foster Avenue

FOREST HILLS MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Queens 12 noon
Formation: 107-15 Metropolitan Avenue
Route: West on Metropolitan Avenue to Trotting Course Lane

COLLEGE POINT MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Queens 2 p.m.
Formation: 28th Avenue to 26th Avenue and College Point Boulevard
Route: East to 120th Street and then back to College Point Boulevard
and north to McNeil Park.

GREENPOINT MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Brooklyn 8:30 a.m.
Formation: 519 Leonard Street
Route: Proceed north on Manhattan Ave to Milton Street. After a mass,
the parade heads back south on Manhattan Avenue, then east on Nassau
Avenue east to McGoldrick Park. Finally, back to Leonard Street via
Driggs Avenue.

MASPETH MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Queens 12 p.m.
Formation: 72nd Place and Grand Avenue
Route: Proceed down Grand Avenue and make a right onto 61st Street,
march to 56th Road where route turns right and heads to Clinton Avenue.
Takes Clinton Avenue back to 65th Place and up the service road making a
left on Grand Avenue to 69th Street.


MONDAY, MAY 31
MEMORIAL DAY

WHITESTONE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Queens 12 noon
Formation: Whitestone Memorial Field on 149th Street and 15th Drive
Route: From the field to a service road at the Cross Island Parkway,
onto 150th Street and then down 17th Road toward 149th Street, ending at
the park where it started

LITTLE NECK-DOUGLASTON MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Queens 2 p.m.
Formation: Jayson Street and Northern Boulevard
Route: West on Northern Boulevard to St. Anastasia's School

BROOKLYN MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Brooklyn 11 a.m.
Formation: 79th Street and 3rd Avenue
Route: Runs along 3rd Avenue to Marine Avenue, up to 4th Avenue and
over to John Paul Jones Park.

GREATER NY GOOD NEIGHBOR PARADE
Manhattan 1 pm. to 5 p.m.
Formation: Madison Avenue at East 41st Street
Route: South on Madison Avenue to 27th Street

INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES FESTIVAL
Manhattan 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: Madison Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 57th Street
