Funeral services will be held for Sergeant Keith
Ferguson on Thursday, February 5, at 10:00 a.m. at:

Sgt. Keith Ferguson died in the
line of duty, collapsing while in pursuit of a suspect in lower Manhattan on
January 31, 2004. Sgt. Ferguson was a member of the Emergency Service Unit's
Truck #7 and a leader of a Hercules team.
Sgt. Ferguson was appointed to
the New York City Police Department on January 20, 1987. He spent seventeen
years with the Police Department and served in the Field Training Unit, 1st
Precinct, the Narcotics Division, the Auto Crime Division, the 67 Precinct and
the Emergency Service Unit. He was promoted to Sergeant on October 30, 1998. Sgt
Ferguson received a Department Recognition in the grade of Excellent Police Duty
in 1989.
Representatives of the Office of the DCPI will be present at the
service to assist members of the media. Beginning at 6 a.m., "Broadcast Vehicles
Only" can park on west side of Centre Street/Park Row from Chambers Street to
Beekman Street. A two-tier riser will be set up across the street from the
Church. The press can access the riser after 8 a.m. The exterior video tape pool
will be handled by WNYC.
