The New York City Police Department today announced additional security
measures that will be in place at Yankee Stadium during the Major League
Playoffs, beginning at tomorrow night's game. Due to these increased security
measures, all ticket-holders are urged to use mass transit and allow for extra
time to enter the stadium.
No tailgate parties will be permitted in the parking lot. No open containers
of alcohol will be permitted in the vicinity outside Yankee Stadium during
playoff games. No bags will be permitted inside the stadium during playoff
games. All ticket-holders will be subject to search by security personnel. From
one hour before to one hour after the game, no aircraft will be permitted to fly
below 3,000 feet within a three-mile radius of the
stadium.
