New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly,
United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Roslynn R. Mauskopf,
and Special-Agent-in-Charge of the A.T.F. William G. McMahon will announce the
takedown of an illegal firearms trafficking organization based in
Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, at a press conference today at 3 p.m., in the
second-floor press room of One Police Plaza.
Detective Rodney Andrews,
who was murdered with Detective James Nemorin on March 10, 2003, on Staten
Island, served as the undercover detective during the eight-month investigation
that led up to this week's
takedown. This operation represents Detective
Andrews' last work for the Department.
