The New York City Police Department will host more than
35 organizations from the Asian community during a meeting to prepare for the
Chinatown Health Insurance Enrollment Initiative on Thursday, May 15, at 1 p.m.
in the second-floor press room at One Police Plaza.
The Chinatown Health
Insurance Enrollment Initiative is part of Mayor Bloomberg's HealthStat program
- a citywide initiative to get low-income, uninsured children and adults
enrolled in public health insurance programs such as Child Health Plus, Family
Health Plus, and Medicaid. The Department will sponsor the event on June 1 and
June 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Mott Street between Canal and Bayard
Streets.
During tomorrow's meeting at One Police Plaza, leaders of
the Asian community will be available to answer questions from members of the
media.
