New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly And Police Foundation President Pamela Delaney To Host Annual Commanding Officer For A Day

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly and Police Foundation President Pamela Delaney will host the annual Commanding Officer for a Day program on Wednesday, May 14. A short "swearing-in" ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the first-floor auditorium at One Police Plaza.

After the ceremony, 150 community and business leaders will be assigned to precinct, housing and transit commands throughout the city for a tour of duty as a commanding officer. There, they will be given a unique opportunity to see the complex management issues that the Department's real commanding officers face every day. The program is designed to broaden the understanding of the NYPD for the city's business and community leaders.
