To recognize the outstanding efforts of members of the
New York Police Department, New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly
will preside over the promotion ceremonies of 203 uniformed officers and 67
civilians on Friday, April 25, in the first-floor auditorium of One Police
Plaza. Two ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The 11 a.m.
ceremony will recognize the promotion of 3 officers to Deputy Chief, as well as
4 officers to Inspector, and 5 to Deputy Inspector. In addition, 16 officers
will be promoted to Lieutenant, 9 to
Detective First Grade, 16 to Detective
Second Grade, 16 to Detective Investigator, and 3 to Detective Specialist. The
ceremony will also recognize the promotion of 67 civilians to various positions.
During the 2 p.m. ceremony, 125 officers will be promoted to Probationary
Sergeant.
