To recognize the outstanding
efforts of members of the New York Police Department, Police Commissioner
Raymond W. Kelly will preside over the promotion ceremonies of 206 uniformed
officers and 65 civilians on Friday, December 20, in the first-floor auditorium
of One Police Plaza. The two ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m. and 2
p.m.
During the 11 a.m. ceremony,
78 officers will be promoted to Probationary Sergeant, 18 to Detective
Investigator, and 17 to Detective Specialist.
The 2 p.m. ceremony will
recognize the promotion of Andrew D. Lewis to Assistant Commissioner of
Community Affairs, as well as Luis F. Serrano and Carlos M. Rodriguez to
Chaplain. Four Deputy Inspectors will be promoted to Inspector. In addition, 14
officers will be promoted to Probationary Captain, 3 to Lieutenant Special
Assignment, 1 to Lieutenant Commander Detective Squad, 7 to Detective First
Grade, 17 to Detective Second Grade, 30 to Probationary Lieutenant, 7 to
Sergeant Special Assignment, 7 to Sergeant Supervisor Detective Squad, and 65
civilians will be promoted to various positions.
