The New York City Police Department today announced that
the reward has been increased to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of four suspects for the attempted murder of a New York City
Police Officer on Tuesday, November 19, in Jersey City, New Jersey. COP SHOT
(Citizens Outraged at Police Being Shot) has offered $10,000 to the reward fund,
which adds to the $10,000 supplied by the New York City Police Foundation.
Police Officer Hung Nguyen was
assaulted while he was off-duty in a bar in Jersey City. He sustained serious
injuries, including paralysis below the chest. The four suspects (three men and
one woman, respectively) are: Teo Nguyen, 22; Mai T Nguyen, 25; Binh Nguyen, 19;
and Uyen Nguyem, age not known. Though the officer and the suspects share the
same last name, they are not related.
The NYPD is conducting this investigation with the Jersey
