To recognize the outstanding efforts of members of the
New York Police Department, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly will preside
over the promotion ceremonies of 192 uniformed officers and 44 civilians on
Tuesday, November 26, in the
first-floor auditorium of One Police Plaza. The two ceremonies will take place
at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The 11 a.m. ceremony will recognize the following
high-level promotions: Three Deputy Inspectors will be promoted to Inspector,
and six Captains will be promoted to Deputy Inspector. In addition, 30 officers will be promoted to Probationary
Lieutenant and 44 civilians will be promoted to various positions.
During the 2 p.m. ceremony, 5 officers will be promoted to Detective
First Grade, 25 to Detective Second Grade, 76 to Probationary Sergeant, 23 to
Detective Investigator, and 24 to Detective Specialist.
