New York City Police
Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly will host the graduation ceremony for the new
class of 27 Police Communications Technicians on Friday, November 8, at 1 p.m.
The ceremony will take place in the auditorium at 11 Metro Tech Plaza in
Brooklyn.
The new group of PCTs
graduated from the 40-day E-911 Calltaker class and will now join the
Department's Communications Section. The mission of personnel in this section is
to promptly and courteously service a daily average of more than 32,000
emergency calls from the public, and to notify and dispatch appropriate
patrols.
In 2001, more than 11.8
million emergency 911 calls were received by the Communications Section, and
more than 4.4 million of them resulted in the dispatch of patrols.
