The New York City Police
Department will hold a street dedication ceremony for Police Officer Michael
Buczek on Friday, October 18, at 1 p.m. The ceremony will take place at 2207
Amsterdam Avenue (at West 170th Street) in the 33rd Precinct.
Officer
Buczek died in the line of duty on October 18, 1988. While investigating two
narcotics dealers in the 34th Precinct, he was shot and killed by one of the
suspects. Before the street dedication ceremony, a memorial mass will be held at
11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth
Church.
