The New York Police
Department today announced several street closures across the city for the week
of September 9, 2002. Because of security concerns and numerous ceremonies
related to the anniversary of the terrorist attacks, drivers should expect heavy
delays in many parts
of the city this week.
The following street
closures will be in effect all day from Tuesday, Sept. 10 to Friday, Sept.
13:
45th and 46th Streets
between Vanderbilt and Madison Avenues
Vanderbilt Avenue between 45th and
46th Streets
48th and 49th Streets between Lexington and Park Avenues
49th
and 50th Streets between Park and Madison Avenues
The following street
closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day from Tuesday, Sept.
10, to Friday, Sept. 13:
Eastbound 42nd, 44th, and 46th Streets
between First and Second Avenues
The ramp from Northbound FDR Drive to 42nd
Street
The following street closures
will be in effect on Wednesday, Sept. 11:
West Street from Canal Street to Battery Park (from 8 a.m. to 11
a.m.,
and from 4 p.m. until the completion of ceremonies)
Battery Place
between West Street and Boradway (from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
State Street between
Broadway and Water Street (from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
31st Street between Sixth
and Seventh Avenues (from 7 a.m. to 7
p.m.)
The following
street closures will be in effect on Thursday, Sept. 12:
West Street
between West Thames and Canal Streets (from 7:25 p.m. to
9:30
p.m.)
