Workplace Rags

Take the following steps to reduce waste:

  • Use washable, reusable sponges and towels. Purchase rags that are reused scraps from the textile industry. If it is necessary to use disposable paper products, such as paper towels, choose products made with recycled content. (Check out Buy Recycled Standards for recycling-content standards.)
  • Contract with a linen service that will supply, collect, wash, and return cleaning rags and shop towels for reuse. Visit measurement tools to learn more about the potential benefits of contracting with a linen service.
