Here are some ways to reduce waste associated with single-use items:
- Offer free or reduced-cost refills to employees who bring reusable mugs or cups.
- Avoid single-use condiments. Buy in bulk and use refillable dispensers or other containers for sugar, cream, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, soy sauce, and other condiments.
- Use straw and toothpick dispensers to eliminate use of individually wrapped products.
- Use fewer disposable batteries. Invest in individual rechargeable batteries and a recharger.
