Electronic equipment other than rechargeable batteriescell phones, and equipment covered under state law, such as loose cables, cameras, gps devices, and microwaves are not specifically covered under any local or state regulations. Therefore, residents can discard these items in the regular trash. Manufacturers, retailers, and service providers are not required to offer free takeback programs.

However, in addition to discarding these items in the trash, there may still be alternatives to disposal.
