NYC - recycle more, waste less New York City Recycles NYC Department of Sanitation
Private Carter Guidelines

Every business  in New York City must arrange for its trash and recycling to be removed. Trash and recycling must be removed by a licensed carting company leaving NYCWasteLess (for all types of waste), or a registered carting company leaving NYCWasteLess  (for construction and demolition debris only). Alternatively, a business can get permission from the Business Integrity Commission (BIC), leaving NYCWasteLess formerly the Trade Waste Commission (TWC), to haul its own waste, although it is more economical for most businesses to use a private carter.

When choosing a carter, consider the following:

transportation and collection guidelines
billing guidelines
separate organics collections

reuse

waste prevention
