Battery Disposal Options

Most rechargeable batteries (and cell phones) are accepted under the Call2Recycle® program, a free and easy to use program set up by rechargeable battery manufacturers.

For batteries not accepted under the Call2Recycle® program, such as large non-automotive (lead acid) batteries and alkaline batteries, as well as rechargeable batteries, city agencies may use the agency safe handling contract. Please note, alkaline batteries may also be disposed of in the regular trash.
