Law: NYC Administrative Code leaving NYCWasteLess (Search for Title 24, Chapter 8: NYC Climate Protection Act)

Summary: The New York City Climate Protection Act, enacted as Local Law 22 of 2008 leaving NYCWasteLess, establishes NYC's Climate Action Plan. The law requires a 30% reduction in City government emissions by the year 2017 below 2006 (base year) levels, and a 30% reduction in citywide greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2030 below 2005 (base year) levels. To track progress towards these goals, the City is mandated to complete an annual comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventory and annual report.

History: This law repeals and replaces Local Law 55 of 2007 leaving NYCWasteLess, the "New York City Climate Protection Act".
