Compost Bins
The NYC Compost Project on Staten Island offers compost bins at reduced prices to NYC residents. "Wormshop" participants will also receive a wormbin discount voucher, which entitles participants to purchase one worm bin including 1 lb of worms for only $44.

Composting 101 in the Classroom
The NYC Compost Project on Staten Island offers a one-hour, hands-on class for grades 1-8 on the importance of recycling and composting. There is a $25 materials fee which covers texts, interactive projects, and a LIVE worm bin to show students the science of composting in action. Teacher Workshop: Worm Composting in the Classroom
Looking for a new way to introduce your class to ecology, environmental science, and recycling? Try composting with worms! Learn how to set up a worm bin, maintain the system effectively, and discover creative ways to incorporate composting into your science, math, and language arts curriculum. This class may be held at any Staten Island school for a group of five or more teachers. Compost Workshops for Staten Island Community Groups
Do you belong to a Staten Island based community garden, neighborhood association, or civic group that is interested in composting? The NYC Compost Project on Staten Island will come to your community (groups of 10 or more) to present a hands-on workshop on a variety of composting topics. Call (718) 425-3557 to schedule a workshop or check under organic waste in the WasteLess Events Calendar for workshops already scheduled.
