Electronic Trade-In Programs

Electronics are not accepted through Sanitation’s standard recycling program. Note that in 2015 most electronic items will be required by law to be accepted by retailers or manufacturers.

Common Trade In Programs:

Amazon: Select your items from a list (electronics, video games, movies, textbooks), print free shipping label, and get a gift an Amazon.com card.

BestBuy: Use the BestBuy trade-in estimator to value your product, print a pre-paid shipping label or find a participating trade-in store, and claim your gift card.

BuyBackTech.com: Sell used and broken cell phones, tablets, and iPods.

BuyMyTronics.com: Sell used and broken cell phones, game consoles, and iPods.

Costco: Responsibly trade-in electronic gadgets (such as laptops, cell phones, LCD monitors, digital cameras, MP3 players, gaming systems & more) for Costco Cash Cards redeemable in Costco warehouses or at Costco.com. Powered by Gazelle..

HP Trade In: Get a free quote, purchase a new HP product, ship your product back, receive cash back.

J&R Music: In-store and online trade-in programs. A sales associate or customer service representative will value the device and give you a gift card or store credit. Or, get a quote online and get a check, gift card or e-gift card mailed to you.

Gazelle: Sell used phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, computers, external hard drives, more.

RadioShack: Trade in store or trade online. RadioShack will appraise the item and apply the credit toward a new purchase or mail you a gift card.

Target: The NextWorth trade-in program allows you to trade-in your new or used iPod, iPhone, video game, GPS system, camera, and DVDs and Blu-ray discs for a Target GiftCard. You can use the calculator to get an estimate of the value of your item and ship your item by printing off the pre-paid shipping label. In 10-14 days you'll receive a Target GiftCard for the approved value.

TigerDirect.com: Use TigerDirect.com to generate a value for your used electronics. Appraise it, ship it with a pre-paid shipping label, and get paid in the form of a gift card.

Walmart: Walmart partnered with Gazelle to offer trade-in for electronics in exchange for a Walmart eGift card.

YouRenew.com: Sell your used gadgets for reuse or recycling, including cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, calculators, laptops, gaming devices, external drives, and tablet e-readers.
