Maureen Aladin is a singer/songwriter and actress. Behind the scenes, she’s taking center stage as a writer, director and most recently producer of her own online indie music sessions show, the MSPOT. The MSPOT creates a venue for independent artists to showcase their talents online and live in concert while offering those interested in advancing their careers in the entertainment field industry advice from the industry’s experts.
A graduate of the University of SUNY Stony Brook, Maureen holds a BA in Political Science and received a Masters in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology. Her artistic training includes studying with One-on-One Productions, The Harlem Theatre Company and The Harlem Screenwriters. As a staff writer for Dr. Boyce Watkin’s Yourblackworld.com and Fierce411.com, Maureen also wrote her first t.v. script for a BET special on music composer Terrance Blanchard. Keeping true to her roots and reclaiming her place in front of the camera, Maureen landed a role in the popular Off-Broadway play Mama I Want to Sing. In 2005 she snagged the crown in the first ever Miss Creole Pageant. Balancing her need to create on screen and off, Maureen co-founded SistaPAC productions. The company is a dynamic enterprise that produces refreshing works in film, television and music.
