Host: Lauren Atkins

Lauren Atkins is an accomplished actress and host. Ever since she was a child she has adored the stage and being in front of the camera. The South African beauty hails from Cape Town but made toronto her home where she modeled, danced and took part in several school plays. After studying film and television production at the Trebas Institute in Toronto, Atkins moved to Havana Cuba to attend the famous Superior Institute of the Arts. It was there that she worked with a vocal coach, studied spanish and various types of dance. Upon returning, she worked as a production assistant at a local TV station and studied with renowned acting coach Richard Mckenna. The travel 'bug' hit her hard though, and she began wondering...could it be time to kiss Canada goodbye?

In 2006, Lauren began hosting a popular online music show 'Black Cat Baby Presents.' myspace.com/blackcatbaby) thanks to the popularity of myspace, artists from around the world began submitting music. What began as a small hip-hop podcast, quickly became a format for musicians of all styles to showcase their talent. Working tirelessly as the show's writer and producer, Atkins discovered that being behind the camera is equally as gratifying as being in front of it. Driven by her love of urban music and culture, she moved to New York. Currently, she is producing her latest show 'Black Cat Baby Presents: The New (York) Sound.' She can also be seen modeling for the exquisite carnival costume line 'Army of Peace.' (myspace.com/1lovemovement)

What's next for this woman of the world? Anything is possible in the city that never sleeps.
