Backdrop NYC, the premiere showcase of short films! Demonstrating the depth and breadth of independent film community, the shorts range in style from animation to live action to documentary – always of New Yorkers, by New Yorkers, for New Yorkers.



About This Season
Shorter, better and greater – just a few words that describe Backdrop NYC’s Second Season. Power packed into a half-hour episode, this time around we’ve got many exceptional award-winning films and a wider selection of films from a variety of genres, including period pieces and fantasies. Plus, plenty star actors to fill your nights, see Bill Murray, Eva Da Cruz, Mamie Gummer and others flex their short-form performance muscles all season.

NYCTV is now accepting submissions. Selections will be broadcast on NYCTV, the city’s fastest growing Emmy Awardâ winning network.
