Efficient management and quality construction are essential to NYCHA’s ability to execute its ambitious capital program. In 2003, NYCHA implemented the Construction Management/Build (CM/Build) Program to improve the quality of construction projects and ensure that they are administered effectively and efficiently. Under CM/Build, NYCHA retains experienced construction management firms to provide pre-construction, construction management and related services for major (often high dollar value) capital projects.

In the current round of CM/Build, NYCHA has awarded thirteen (13) contracts for construction projects and related services valued at $960 million. The CM/Build Program pre-qualifies subcontractors capable of performing capital work. This streamlined contractor selection process helps to ensure the efficiency and quality of contract work.
