Request Photo Identification from NYCHA Employees

It has recently come to our attention that unknown individuals are impersonating NYCHA workers and are falsely seeking access into residents apartments by requesting to make repairs.

Please be aware that all NYCHA employees are required to carry identification and must show this I.D. upon request; it should have an orange sticker that says "2012-2013." It is the official source of photo identification for all NYCHA employees. If the orange sticker is not on the I.D. it is NOT VALID.

For the safety of our residents, we encourage you to ask employees for I.D. before allowing them access into your apartment. We have also asked for all employees to voluntarily show their I.D. to residents before entering an apartment.

Please contact your Management Office if you have any further questions.
