Beach 41st Street Houses Slated for Renovation

The Board of the New York City Housing Authority has approved a $2.2 million contract to restore the exterior brickwork of Beach 41st Street Houses, a public housing development with 712 apartments in Far Rockaway, Queens.

"This is a major brickwork renovation that includes installation of horizontal expansion joints in every floor and exterior brick facade repairs to all four buildings in the development," said NYCHA Chairman Tino Hernandez.

The contract was awarded to MKM Construction Services, Inc. and should take about one year to complete.

Beach 41st Street Houses, completed in 1973, consist of four 13-story buildings on 13.31 acres. The complex, which houses about 1,733 residents, is bordered by Beach 38th and Beach 41st Streets, Norton Avenue and Beach Channel Drive.
