| Justice Sotomayor at Sotomayor Houses in the Bronx as featured on "60 Minutes." |
Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic United States Supreme Court Justice and former NYCHA resident, gave a rare broadcast interview to “60 Minutes” as she walked through her former housing development that now bears her name and spoke about life growing up in the Bronx and her career.
Justice Sotomayor attended the ceremony formally renaming Bronxdale Houses and Community Center in her honor in June 2010, joining Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, NYCHA Chairman John B. Rhea, and NYCHA Board Member Margarita López.
Justice Sotomayor’s interview (aired Jan. 13) coincides with the release of her autobiography, My Beloved World. To see the 60 Minutes video of Justice Sotomayor’s full interview, go to http://cbsn.ws/UYOPod
