Returning to Work in the Aftermath of Hurricane Irene

Update as of 9pm Sunday, August 28, 2011

This provides you with an update on NYCHA's plans to return to work in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

Throughout the day significant progress has been made in clean up efforts and restoration of services across the city. I am pleased to share that all office facilities including 250 Broadway, 90 Church Street and Borough offices will be operating under normal conditions on Monday morning, August 29, 2011.

All NYCHA employees are therefore expected to report to work on Monday. Given transportation constraints we recognize that many of you may face challenges so please make best efforts to make it into the office. If you anticipate travel delays or difficulties making it in altogether, you must contact your supervisor directly. A copy of the Mayor's press release regarding city employee reporting procedure is available here for your reference

Please stay safe and thank you again for your efforts to keep NYCHA and its residents and employees safe during and after the storm.

Atefeh Riazi

Acting General Manager
