Discounted Citi Bike Memberships Available for NYCHA Residents
New York City has a brand new bike share system as of Spring 2013. It’s called Citi Bike, and it will make thousands of bicycles available 24/7 to anyone who purchases an annual membership or short-term pass. Citi Bikes will live at self-service stations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including some convenient to NYCHA developments. Citi Bikes are sturdy and comfortable, and are perfect for short trips. Want to avoid a long walk to the subway station? Take a Citi Bike instead.
Citi Bike is working hard to make sure that this new transportation option is affordable for all New Yorkers. In fact, NYCHA residents get a full year of Citi Bike access for $60 (regular price: $95); just enter a special discount code when purchasing your annual membership online. Annual membership includes unlimited 45-minute bike rides. Rides longer than 45 minutes will have overtime fees.
