Youth and seniors in NYCHA’s music programs perform with renowned choruses and orchestras, entertaining audiences throughout the five boroughs and beyond. In addition to honing their musical skills, chorus and orchestra members enjoy a chance to socialize, receive personal as well as educational guidance, and have the opportunity to see other musical performances at little or no cost. Youth Chorus
The NYCHA Youth Chorus engages residents ages
9 to 21 in continuous vocal training, music history and movement. The Youth Chorus has been celebrated from City Hall to Yankee Stadium, Disney World and all over the metropolitan area in concerts of classical, Gospel, Pop, and Latin music. Chorus members, who must audition, also receive educational and career guidance.

Senior Chorus
The Senior Chorus was established to provide senior citizens with the enjoyment of singing and performing for NYCHA. Lessons include vocal technique, performance, and singing. The Chorus performs a repertoire of Gospel, Pop, and R&B music. Auditions are ongoing and new members are always welcome. The Senior Chorus offers open registration to residents of all NYCHA developments and community center members.

Symphony Orchestra
The NYCHA Symphony Orchestra features world-class musicians who perform concerts of the highest caliber for residents. The Orchestra features jazz, chamber, string and woodwind ensembles.
