Collaboration and Web Development Manager
Business Solution Technology

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Business Solution Technology Department is seeking a Web Development Manager who will manage NYCHA’s Intranet and Internet development effort; oversee a new project to redesign our Intranet pages to a more dynamic and collaborative environment which will include Web 2 features. The selected candidate must be a visionary who has experience working in similar environments and will serve as team lead for staff involved in this development effort and other Web Development projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. A master’s degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using information technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, planning of data/information processing, user services, or area networks at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, database administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described in”1” above; or
  3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or recognized accrediting organization and six years of experience as described in “1” above; or
  4. Satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to “1”, “2” or “3” above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or recognized accrediting organization and must possess at least three years of experience as described in “1” above, including the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in “1” above.
NOTE:  Note: The following types of experience are not acceptable: superficial use of preprogrammed software without complex programming, design, implementation or management of the product; use of word processing packages; use of a hand held calculator; primarily the entering or updating of data in a system; the operation of data processing hardware or consoles.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
  1. Seven years experience with a minimum of two years managing Web development projects and five years hands-on experience developing Web Applications and sites using Oracle/BEA product stack.
  2. Experience with J2EE architecture; Oracle WebCenter Framework and Weblogic; developing Oracle WebCenter Portal.
SKILLS DESIRED:
  1. Strong project management skills including problem solving, reasoning ability and attention to detail; the ability to oversee or modify a schedule of tasks with minimum supervision.
  2. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  3. Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  4. Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
  5. Strong knowledge of HTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, Oracle ADF, Java Server Pages/Faces, JDeveloper, CSS, Oracle Database and Weblogic.
  6. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture; Web 2 concepts and collaboration - Announcements, Wiki, Blogs, Events, Tags, Activity Graphs, People Connections, Ensemble, Mail, Work list, RSS, Presence, Calendar etc.
