|  The NYCHA Board Three Members, two of whom are appointed by the Mayor for five-year terms, and the Chairman, who is appointed by the Mayor and reports to the Mayor, constitute the governing Board of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). One Member is designated the Vice-Chair, and in the event of a vacancy in the office of the Chairman or when the Chairman is absent or unable to act, the Vice-Chairman assumes his/her duties and powers. The Board Members are responsible for voting on contracts, resolutions, policies, motions, rules and regulations at regularly scheduled meetings of the Members of the Authority.
