Members of the NYCHA Board
The NYCHA Board is made up of four Members appointed by the Mayor: the Chairman and a Resident Board Member are appointed by and serve at the Mayor's pleasure; the remaining two Board Members are appointed by the Mayor to five-year terms. One Member is designated the Vice-Chair, and in the event of a vacancy in the office of the Chairman or when the Chairman is absent or unable to act, the Vice-Chair assumes the Chairman's duties and powers. The Board Members are responsible for voting on contracts, resolutions, policies, motions, rules and regulations at regularly scheduled meetings of the Members of NYCHA.
