Robert Marano was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in September 2013. This executive position directly oversees the Information Technology (IT) department as well as sets IT direction and coordinates infrastructure and service delivery across NYCHA. Mr. Marano is responsible for enterprise applications, Business Intelligence (BI), user support, infrastructure, communications, information security and the IT Project Management Office (PMO).
Mr. Marano brings to NYCHA more than 25 years of both public and private sector experience in IT Project Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Portfolio Management, Business Process Reengineering, Strategic Planning, and IT Governance. Prior to his current position, Mr. Marano was the Director of Application Development and then Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Officer for NYCHA. Prior to joining NYCHA, he was the Director of Information Systems at The Hartz Mountain Corporation, where he held positions of increasing responsibility from Senior Software Developer to the Director of Information Systems.
Mr. Marano is a graduate of Rowan University in New Jersey where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
