Michael Rosen was appointed Vice President for Disaster Recovery in the Capital Projects Division of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in February 2014. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing and directing the Authority’s recovery, rebuilding and resiliency response to Superstorm Sandy.
Mr. Rosen first joined NYCHA in September 2005, where his progressively responsible positions previously culminated as Acting Director for Mixed Finance Asset Management. In addition to managing a $300 million construction portfolio, responsibilities for this position included day- to-day operational oversight for 50 public housing developments. Prior to his return to NYCHA in 2014, he served as Vice President for Property and Asset Management at Comunilife, a not-for-profit organization that provides housing and support services to formerly homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS or mental illness. Mr. Rosen also brings to his position 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, where he held various senior management positions.
Mr. Rosen attended Hunter College and Baruch College School of Public Affairs. He holds Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance and National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) Public Housing Manager Certificates.
