Public Project of the Year, 2004

Inaugural AIA New York Chapter Public Project Award

The American Institute of Architects’ New York Chapter honored the new Williamsburg Community Center with its inaugural Public Project of the Year Award in 2004, for its “high standards in design and construction excellence.” The AIA New York Chapter encourages the “design and construction of public buildings that demonstrate principles of design excellence,” and this special award was created to “recognize an especially significant and recently completed public project.” The center was designed by NYCHA consultants Pasanella + Klein Stolzman + Berg Architects, P.C., with input from NYCHA departments, design staff and residents.
