In January 2010, the Government Finance Officers
Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of
Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Authority for its
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended December
31, 2008.
This was an unprecedented sixth consecutive year that
the Authority earned this prestigious award. The award is presented to
government agencies whose CAFR achieves the highest standards in government
accounting and financial reporting.
In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, the
government body must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized CAFR
that demonstrates a constructive “spirit of full disclosure.” The award
presentation will take place at the Authority’s Executive Board Meeting on June
9, 2010.
