Notify NYC is a new service designed to enhance the delivery of emergency information to the public. During the pilot phase, you will receive two kinds of messages about events that occur in your pilot area:
Notifications:
If an emergency occurs and has potential to impact one of the four pilot areas, notifications will provide subscribers with basic information about the incident and status updates.
Alerts:
If a major emergency occurs in one of the four pilot areas, alerts will provide subscribers with status updates and instructions on how to respond.
Before you register, please note that emergencies can affect the wired and wireless telecommunication networks we use to deliver information. Delays may occur due to damage from emergencies like flooding or fires or when increased voice and data traffic exceeds the capacity of a network.
