Notify NYC is a new service designed to enhance the delivery of emergency information to the public. During the pilot phase, the City will test different kinds of public messaging, including email, text messaging and telephone, to determine the best way to launch a citywide program. There are currently four communities involved in the pilot.

Preregister for the Citywide Program

After the pilot phase, the City will review user feedback along with the technological capabilities to create a citywide program. If you would like to be contacted when the citywide program is available, sign up here.

Notifications: If an emergency occurs and has potential to impact one of the four pilot areas, notifications will provide subscribers with basic information about the incident and status updates.

Alerts: If a major emergency — one that will interrupt routine behavior — occurs in one of the four pilot areas, alerts will provide subscribers with status updates and instructions on how to respond.
