Downtown Brooklyn:
Eat
You may not be from Brooklyn originally, but Downtown Brooklyn offers plenty of venerable dining institutions with a local vibe that will have you feeling like you grew up just down the block.

The Queen Italian Restaurant (84 Court Street) reigns in Brooklyn. The décor and food are old world Italian, Brooklyn style, with great homemade pasta. For a quick refueling, stop at Victory Café (71 Hoyt Street) for an espresso, or its neighbor, Ziola (73 Hoyt Street), for a top-notch sandwich. Well-known among old time Brooklynites as the place to eat, laugh and kibitz, Junior's has been making what many claim to be the "best cheesecake in the world" since 1950. Come decide for yourself. Located at 386 Flatbush Avenue (at the corner of De Kalb Avenue).
